Ronald Filler, Board of Managers

Mr. Filler is currently a Professor of Law, Director of the Financial Services Law  Institute and Program Director of the LL.M in Financial Services Law at New York Law School and Chair of the Editorial Advisory Board of the NY Business Law Journal.    Mr. Filler is also a Public Director and Member of the Executive Committee and Governance Advisory Committee of the National Futures Association, a Public Director of the Board of Directors of SWAP-EX, a swap execution facility (SEF) owned by State Street Bank, Chair of the Regulatory Oversight Committee (ROC) of SWAP-EX, a member of the Risk Advisory Committee of New York Portfolio Clearing, and a member of the Board of Trustees of The Clearing Corporation Charitable Foundation.

Previously, Mr. Filler was the past Chairman of the Global Market Advisory Committee (GMAC) of the US CFTC, a Public Director of the Board of Directors of NYSE LIFFE US, a member of the Regulatory Oversight Committee of NYSE LIFFE US, a Member of the Business Conduct Committee at NYMEX, a member of the Board of Directors of The Clearing Corporation, a member of the Clearinghouse Regulatory Oversight Committee of CME, Vice Chairman of BrokerTec Clearing Corporation, Chairman of the Rules Committee of the BrokerTec Futures Exchange and BrokerTec Clearing Corporation, Chairman of the FIA Survey on Electronic Trading, President and member of the Executive Committee of the FIA Law and Compliance Division, member of the Risk Management Committee of the FIA, Chairman of the Futures Law Committee of the Chicago Bar Association, Chairman of the Sub-Committee of Futures Commission Merchants of the Futures Regulation Committee of the American Bar Association, and a Member of the Board of Directors of the MidAmerica Commodity Exchange.

Previously, Mr. Filler was a Managing Director of Institutional Futures Administration in the Capital Markets Prime Services Division at Lehman Brothers (from 1993 to 2008), a Managing Partner at Filler Weiner Zaner & Associates, a Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) and Commodity Pool Operator (from 1980-1985), and an Attorney at the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission.  Mr. Filler has served as Panelist on over 300 industry panels, is a co-author of a law treatise (Regulation of Financial Derivative Instruments – Swaps, Options and Futures), has authored numerous articles and papers, has served as a Professor of Law and serves on the Board of various Charitable Organizations.  He has a B.A. from the University of Illinois, a J.D. from George Washington University law School, and an LL.M in Taxation from Georgetown University law Center.
